About Us

Uptown Sudbury is a CAN (Community Action Network) group of volunteers who work to improve the neighbourhood where we live.

What is a CAN

For more information on the City of Greater Sudbury CAN groups, please click here.

Our primary goal is to connect with the neighbourhood by sharing important information on community improvement projects such as clean-ups, parks, benches, new lighting, murals and gardens as well as safety concerns communicated by the Greater Sudbury Police Services. We are here to listen to what our neighbours want and need from their community. We want you to feel at home and proud to be a part of Uptown Sudbury.

We are scheduled to meet four times per year during the period from September to June. When we meet, it is the third Wednesday of the month at 18:30 in the basement meeting room of the Mackenzie Street Library. The best way to receive information on upcoming meetings, such as the agenda and previous meeting minutes, is to register with us to receive our monthly e-newsletter. Alternatively, you can contact us anytime here for information on our meetings.

Where We Are

Uptown is located between the City of Greater Sudbury's ‘Big Ds’ – Downtown and the Dovonan.
